Hi everyones, for those of yous who doesn't alreadies knows me I am Babo, from Uglyworld and I've beens here visitings Earth now for some years alreadies, and wanteds to explains many things to yous all this year.
As it just becomes the 1st of January's and I is in Scotland (checks out my new cools t-shirt) I has no option than to explains the awesomes celebration of Hogmanay.
There is manys customs, boths national and locals, which is associateds with Hogmanay. From what I learneds tonight the mosts widespread nationals custom is the practices of what peoples call 'first-footing' which seems to starts immediately afters midnight.
It seems that this involves being the firsts person to crosses the thresholds of a friend or neighbour and oftens involves the givings of symbolics gifts likes coals, shortbreads and whiskys, which is all intendeds to brings different kinds of lucks to the householder.
There is lots of foods and drinks for everyones, you can sees I has shortbreads and champagnes, and I has been tolds that this may goes on throughouts the early hours of the morning and well intos the next days. The person who does first-footings is supposeds to set the lucks for the rests of the year. Traditionally, tall darks men are preferreds as the first-foot.
I also learneds that the favourites song here in Scotlands is "Auld Lang Syne" which was a traditionals poem which was reinterpreteds by the famous Scotsman Robert Burns, which was laters set to music.

Wage got some of the gang together this evening for a big celebration party as this is the final day of their photo a day, 365 project.
Even though the guys are still disappointed that Babo wasn't able to make it back in time for the big finale party, they wanted to give all of you a massive thanks to each and every one of you for all yours views, comments and favourites every single day over the last year!!!
And don't worry, this isn't the last you've seen of these guys and stay tuned for some more madness coming soon!

Babo was called in to the local ice rink today to help a poor Scottish bear out with keeping his balance.

It's that time of year when the whole Ugly gang get together for their xmas photograph.
We're only missing Critterbox Babo who's still off helping Santa out with his deliveries, and Mireille's Critterbox Wage who's visiting one of her friends who's no feeling too well for xmas too.

Uglyworld #905 - Xmas Traditions (358-365)

With their having been so many new additions to the Ugly family here in Aachen in the last twelve months there has been quite a lot of explaining to the new guys about Christmas and traditions here on Earth.
They got totally excited when blue Ice-Bat explained to the other Ice-Bat's that "In Germanys they celebrates christmases today, on the 24th's of Decembers, whereas in Scotlands they celebrates it tomorrows on the 25th's of Decembers".
Glow in the dark Ice-Bat couldn't contain his excitement, "Wowzers, so you means that we really gets two Christmases this year, which means doubles the cookies?".
Sadly blue Ice-Bat had to explain that he will get the same amount of presents (i.e. cookies), but spread out over the two different locations. Clear Ice-Bat was a little disappointed to hear this news too, but when he asked if they were able to celebrate the traditional "Ugly Xmas Cookie Queue" and god a definitive yes in reply he was back to his normal self again playing in the snow. Due to shifts in the central universal timing system since last year the Cookie Queue has been moved from 23:59 to 00:00 on the 23rd/24th December to 23:59 to 00:00 on the 24th/25th December, so there should be some fun to share tonight too!

Uglyworld #904 - "YELP!"
Choco is normally one of the braver uglies, mainly due to the fact that he's one of the bigger guys in the group so he has to stand up for the smaller guys in their times of need.
But even Choco sometimes has a moment of madness where fear kicks in, this morning for example he couldn't believe that the snow in the garden was now over twice his height as he walked along the path I had cleared, and whilst nervously covering his mouth with his hands he let out a little "YELP!".
Lets just hope the roads are a little better as we have to drive from Aachen to Glasgow in Scotland on Saturday!!!

Noupa did his best to reassure Uglyworm that there was no finer pilot in the entire universe than he to ensure that the reindeer and sleigh make it to the North Pole by tomorrow night ready for Santa to start make his Christmas deliveries.
"Says hellos to Babo froms us all toos when you gets there!", he added as Noupa left on his journey.
p.s. Babo called this morning to let you all know that Santa received your wishlists and has approved them all without any issues, and then he discoved that the reindeer and sleigh were still here in Aachen and not already on their way to the North Pole...!!!

Uglyworld #901 - Lost And Found (355-365)

This morning after seeing that there was a lot of fresh snowfall during the night Cinko wrapped himself up in his jacket and went outside shouting, "I is offs outsides to plays in the snows, I will be backs for lunches time okays".
When lunchtime rolled around and Cinko was nowhere to be seen Tray put on her winter woolies and after adding a flask of hot tea to her bag out she went in search of Cinko.
After scouring the entire village she finally found him standing, shivering, chittering, all the while staring skyward towards a large cloud which approached.
"I thinks we gets more snows soons Tray, does you knows the ways home?". Thankfully Tray was able to retrace her steps with the frozen little guy in tow, and they're now enjoying their lunch in the heat of the house.

I don't think I've ever seen Jeero so annoyed and angry as I did this evening.
As I sat watching TV on the couch the little guy came in holding two open tubs from Kinder Surprise eggs, so naturally I asked him what cool toys he found inside them.
Jeero replied angrily before storming off in search of the culprit, "I findeds nothings, someone else not only eats my chocolates eggs, but also takes my surprises too!".
I just hope whoever ate his chocolate and stole his surprises stays in hiding until this blows over!

Uglyworld #899 - The Arrival (353-365)

After his extremely long journey all the way from Aachen in Germany to Santa's secret workshop which is located near the North Pole (I've been warned that I'm not allowed to give away it's full location info), Babo finally arrived last night and after a good nights sleep he was raring to go today as the packing of santa's christmas sacks full of toys and other goodies was underway.
Santa continued to approve new wishlists as they arrived, and promtly passed them over to Tooty McFlutey who organised the toys into groups ready for Babo to pack into the sacks.
This morning Babo called Wage to let him know that he had arrived and that he'd email over a picture of himself hard at work this morning. Babo told Wage, "Tells everyone I says hellos backs home, I is really enjoyings myself here withs Santa and Tooty, who promiseds to teaches me to plays the flutes when we has some free times".
So all that I'm left to do is let Wage say "hellos everyone" from Babo!

Uglyworld #897 - Reindeer Tracker (351-365)

This morning Jeero was out in the garden playing when he found some tracks in the snow. After comparing the size of his own feet (several times) he finally decided that they had to be from some kind of animal and so he decided to follow them.
After a couple of miles he finally noticed that there was a reindeer up ahead eating some fruit that a farmer had left out, and that the tracks appeared to lead right to the reindeer.
"What woulds Babo tells me to do, hmmm", he pondered for a minute or two and then all of a sudden he had his first ever brainwave, "I must makes very very slows movement, so I doesn't scares the reindeer aways, if I don't threatens of scares it maybe it lets me says hello".
Slowly but surely Jeero shuffled his way through the snow trying in his own special way to be "statues-likes" until he stood only a short distance from the reindeer who by now was watching him very, very closely.
Jeero outstretched his hand and continued to stand perfectly still, and soon the reindeer came over to say hello, and let Jeero pet it's fur. As he did so the thought came into his head, "Man!!! When I gets back and tells the others they will not believes me and thinks that I is just makings it up!".
Poor Jeero...sometimes not being the smartest cookie in the cookie jar has it's down sides even when he does tell the truth!

Uglyworld #896 - Jigsaw Master (350-365)

Since Babo left on his Christmas journey Wage has been meandering around the house trying to find things to do that will not only keep him occupied, but also keep his mind from wandering to worrying about Babo who should hopefully reach Santa's workshop on the North Pole in the next day or so.
Ox suggested that they could play some board games, but Wage wasn't too interested in Cluedo, Monopoly or Trivial Pursuit. It wasn't until Ox kept shouting out the names on all of the boxes in the cupboard that Wage finally shouted out "Perfects!" when Ox mentioned a jigsaw.
It seems to have worked a treat too, as he's been working away on the puzzle in near silence now for the last half hour, I think I need to go find some more jigsaws to keep him going when this one is finished.

Uglyworld #895 - Frosties The Snowman (349-365)

Cinko has been getting more and more agitated having to sit at home inside the house looking outside at the piles and piles of snow building up in the back garden.
He had been waiting on his jacket getting washed after Wage took it with him to Oregon in October and November, so when he head that it was finally washed, dried and ready for him to wear there was no stopping the little guy.
He called on me a little while ago to "comes see what I has maked!", and low and behold I found him standing proudly beside this snowman that he put together.
I asked him what the snowman's name was, to which he replied "Does snowmans have names? In that's case I will calls him Frosties, after my favourites breakfasts cereal!".

Uglyworld #894 - The Traveller Continues (348-365)

With Babo having now been travelling for several days Wage decided to put the word out on the internet that if anyone was to spot the little guy on his way to the North Pole that they should try to get a photograph of him (as much to keep Wage happy that Babo's ok than anything else).
Thankfully a friendly family of Polar Bears in Svalbard (a small Norwegian island which lies on the edge of the Artic cirle) was lucky enough to not only find out request on the internet, but also to capture a picture of the little guy in full stride.
They shouted over to Babo to find out if he needed something hot to eat or drink, but he replied "Is okays, thanks kindlies, I hads a fulls breaksfast this mornings and musts gets to the Norths pole quicklies".
With a wave of his hand Babo said his thankful goodbyes and continued on his way towards Santa's workshop at the North Pole.

Uglyworld #890 - Just Being HimsELF (344-365)
Some of you may remember that during December last year Babo was always singing songs like "Rudolf the rednose reindeer" along with lots of other christmas carols, all in an attempt to learn them all early enough to be considered as one of Santa's Elf helpers during Christmas in 2010.
This past few days Babo has spent quite a lot of time on the phone to what he refers to as the "North Poles", and announced to us this morning that he was successful in his application to be an Elf this year. It means that he has to head off to the North Pole today to help Santa out with the massive load of wishlists he has from all the kids around the world, and to help get them made, packed and delivered to the correct addresses.
It turns out that Babo will be away right through until near the end of the year helping Santa with his work, which for some of us will be quite sad not having him around for Christmas, but he says "You has to remembers always that I is in yours heads and hearts and thats I is making Christmases perfects for all the other kids". His sidekick Wage was quite down about him going away for so long, and was also a little concerned that such a job would change Babo at least a little, but Babo told him, "I will justs be beings mysELF, don't worries".
Before he left I made him pose waving to you all for todays picture while wearing his little homemade Elf's hat. To say he's a little excited about the trip would be quite an understatement!

Wedgehead was amazed to find not just 1 chocolate Santa waiting for him, but 2 this evening when we returned home for the first time since Sunday.
Wedgie had been very concerned that any chocolate that would be left for him outside the door yesterday (Nikolaus day here in Germany) would already have been eaten, so he was over the moon to find them intact!

Ever since Babo returned from his "Magykal" trip to the Isle of Skye where he was learning the ancient skills of wizardry he's been telling Mireille and myself that he must study hard for his latest spell.
Today we discovered what the spell that he'd been working on for so long actually was, I better let Babo explain, "Well you sees, I had already been ables to moves objects and evens make them disappears, but being ables to controls another living beings is a wholes differents ball game".
He continued, "Master Wizard telled me that must finds a small animals that I must try to makes relaxes, so I choosed this littles Turtle who is a hards working members of the Turtle Time Magazine stuff backs on Uglyworld. He works all days and never ever finds time to relaxes, so I dids my magics on him and checks him outs now, totallies relaxed!".
Babo's wizard skills are really growing quickly!

Fresh from arriving back in Aachen from America this morning Wage decided to treat us all to another of his lesser-known skills.
"Backs in Uglyworld I was known as 'Strada-wage-ious' and they even names a violins afters me too", Wage explained to Mireille's parents who had invited us round for Sunday dinner.
If we ever find ourselves struggling to make ends meet, we can always send Wage out to busk for some money.

Wage was beginning to wish he hadn't woke up at all when we arrived at the airport ready to check in for our first flight from Portland to Chicago en route back to Aachen.
Wage wasn't interested in going through one of the full body scanners and opted for the full body pat down instead.
He said when they lifted his apron that all he kept saying to himself was, "Thinks of cookies, cookies, cookies..."

Ox emailed the editor of Turtle Time Magazine
The Editor of TTM Called the Security Supervisor of the Royal Family
And without further ado the King paid Wage a visit and ordered him by "Royal Decree" to wake up.
Wage was amazed that his friends went to such great lengths to bring him round in time for his flight home on Saturday.

This evening Dave, Turtle and Ice-Bat placed an international call home to Aachen in the hope of reaching Babo for some wisdom on how to deal with the current predicament Wage had got himself in to.
I still don't know if they managed to reach Babo or come up with a plan yet, but there has been several secret huddles in the hotel room since they hung up the phone.
