This morning I was surprised when I stepped out of the shower to find Wage sitting ready at the table. As Mireille was still sleeping I asked Wage very quietly what he was doing up...he whispered back "Can I borrow some money, I'd like to go xmas shopping today?" all the time with that cute little face looking at me.
How could I resist, so a wad of notes was handed over and I dropped him at the bus stop this morning so he could get on his way (he looked so cool at the bus stop that I just had to snap a pic too).

Uglyworld #212 - Jeero To The Rescue
As always you can rely on the Uglydolls to pull together in times of crisis, normally Wage and Babo are the first to step up and take care of any situation, but today it was Jeero who came to the rescue with the help of the mobile phone the little guys all share.
He called up Uglycabs and asked them how much it would cost to get a taxi from Aachen to Koln, and luckily enough they said that today this particular route was on special offer, such a special offer that they were doing it for free...so Jeero sorted out the details and Kitty was off on her way to Koln.
Uglyworld #211 - Hello Lost Kitty
Yellow Ice-Bat was out in the garden playing this morning (he said he wasn't scared of the wind or rain and that it being so cold was actually ok for him). He came running into the house just before lunchtime screaming for help, everyone automatically thought that he had fallen and hurt himself while playing - but to everyone's surprise the help needed wasn't for Ice-Bat!
A small kitty had noticed Ice-Bat playing in the garden and decided to ask for his help, it turns out she was completely lost and was trying to find her way to Koln but must have taken a wrong turn along the way. As Ice-Bat had only just arrived in Aachen himself he had no idea where Koln was, or how to help the poor kitty out - so he decided that the best thing to do would be to flap his wings like mad and scream for help.
Uglyworld #210 - Orange Ice-Bat's Poor Wings
Much in the same manner as Yellow Ice-Bat had made his entrance Orange Ice-Bat had waited patiently for the noise level to drop low enough that he could whip the audience up into a frenzy once again, and sure enough as soon as he appeared soaring high above the couch everyone went nuts with excitement.
He dipped and soared in the air with ease and then showed off a little with his ability to hover almost motionless (by using tiny little flicks of his wings when needed), and then slowly descended to the surface of the table.
By now the entire family on the couch were going completely mental as they had just witnessed such an amazing spectacle and display. To say they would be welcomed into the family afterwards would be a very large understatement.
Orange Ice-Bat shirked off much of the attention when everyone came running over, as he is quite self-conscious about the fact that his wings don't seem to glow like those of Yellow and Green Ice-Bat do, but no-one paid any attention to this anyway (I don't think they even noticed to be honest).
Uglyworld #209 - Yellow Ice-Bat's Entrance
Near the end of the amazing performance by Green Ice-Bat last night everyone was standing on their feet clapping, whistling and cheering, and after a few minutes just as the noise level was starting to decrease Yellow Ice-Bat flew across the top of everyone sitting on the couch to massive gasps and several renditions of "wow".
He landed on the table a little away from Green Ice-Bat and once again the audience went crazy.

Uglyworld #208 - Green Ice-Bat's Grand Performance
After telling the 3 wise uglies to just be themselves when they introduce themselves to the other guys, they had somewhat of a conference in the corner of the room - at the time I didn't quite know what to expect, but then Orange Ice-Bat came and asked me if he could borrow a few coins to visit the local supermarket, so of course I obliged his request.
In the last couple of minutes I was summoned to the living room by Babo who said that there had been a letter left for them stating "Tonight at 8pm, the most fantastic show in the world, be there or be square!".
We all gathered in the living room to find out what this could all be about, and as we sat on the couch all of a sudden all the lights went out to massive gasps from everyone as panic set in. Suddenly music started to play slowly and light started to appear from behind the living room table, everyone on the couch huddled closely together as they were both scared and excited.
Green Icebat rose high above the table and then slowly descended until he landed on the table upon which lots of coloured lights began to flicker behind him...all the uglies were cheering, whistling and clapping...the performance was an instant hit!!!
Uglyworld #207 - The 3 Wise Uglies
Having hidden in the shadows since their arrival last night (you can blame Ox for not noticing them, he was too busy playing on his skateboard) the 3 individuals approached me today to ask some advice.
It turns out that at this time of year in Uglyworld it's normal for "3 wise uglies" to be sent to visit some of the other uglydolls who live amongst humans and bring with them each a gift. I asked them if this mean that they would bring gifts like Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh detailed in the bible - the 3 of them just started laughing at me and I had no idea why.
After the one-sided mirth died away they announced that they were not carrying such gifts as this, so I asked them where the gifts were and they immediately got embarassed. I had to push them a few times before they were willing to answer my question.
Yellow Ice-Bat said he was carrying Swiss-Roll, Green Ice-Bat said he had been carrying Black Forst Gateau and Orange Ice-Bat said he had been carrying some Chocolate Chip Cookies. I pointed out to them once again that they were standing there with no gifts to which they replied, "It was a long journey from Uglyworld and we got hungry, so we had to eat them - but they were very very very tasty!!!".
The advice they asked of me was simple - what should they do now that they have no gifts to give the other uglies when they first meet them? I told them just to be honest and everything would work out fine....will it?...only time will tell...
Uglyworld #206 - Wage at Aachen Xmas Market
Having seen the photographs of Ice-Bat at the Weihnachtsmarkt in Freiburg during the week, Wage Jr was on my case almost non-stop to visit the Christmas market which is held at the main market square in our hometown of Aachen in Germany.
As the temperature is only JUST above freezing at the moment Mireille first made sure that Wage was dressed with his jumper and hat to keep him warm in the city, and then When we reached the market Wage made a bee-line for the food stalls first and ordered a couple of "reibekuchen" (what I would call a potato fritter if I was back home in Scotland) to eat.
Once the reibekuchen were finished we tried to find the best location for him to have a picture taken, Wage wasn't too happy with the first few shots taken at ground level around many of the market stalls, so he set about finding a better location. After 5-10mins of walking, stopping, walking, stopping, looking around and some more walking and stopping he finally realised that the stairs to the Rathaus (town hall) weren't looking too busy.
He stood on the wall of the stairs and posed with the colours of the market stalls behind him, so many people wanted to ask him where he was from and a few were more interested in his clothes - which when questioned he replied with "It's best to ask my Mama, she's over there - I'm very busy posing just now for my nice xmas picture".
Uglyworld #205 - Oblivious
Ox was so busy playing on his skateboard last night that he was completely oblivious to the three figures who were sneaking up behind him.
Having his earmuffs on didn't help matters as then he had no way to hear their footsteps and whispering as they got nearer and nearer.

Uglyworld #204 - Tales From The Weihnachtsmarkt
When Ice-Bat and Wage arrived at Mireille's last night they were immediately surrounded by all of the other Uglies, they had been watching my Flickr all week for updated photographs from Freiburg and now they wanted to hear all about it in person.
Wage started to tell them the story about standing looking out of the window waiting on the sunrise which never came and then Ice-Bat took over with excitement about the sights, sounds and smells from the Weinachtsmarkt.
Everyone else was so excited that I think we'll have to arrange a family day out to the Aachen market soon!
